Customer Review: It would be nice if I could rate the game play

It would be nice if I could rate the gameplay in comparison to the previous versions, both of which are still instaled on my machine and both of which I still play regularly. But before I could decide if I liked the new look or not, the game would have to work.
I bought HOI3 as soon as it came out, wanting to get a look at it even if I knew it would need some patches and time. But after 3 major patches, the game has never worked. I install it, update it, and then play a couple of hours... and the next time I play, the game crashes when you click play. And stays that way.
When it did that the first time, I shelved it and waited for patches. I am still waiting. Now on version 1.3 and still the same problem. Checking out the forums didn't help much, my drivers were already updated and by the 3rd patch I would expect this well known problem to be dealt with, and it has not. I keep hearing that it runs slow and I wonder if my dual core and 4 gigs of RAM will be slow, but I just don't know how playable this game is until somebody patches it enough so that is USEABLE.
