Video Game Reviews of Guild Wars Game of the YearCustomer Review: Wow older game Summary: 3 StarsI didn't remember even ordering this from here but it was a fun game and was free to play which made it even better.
Customer Review: This is not an MMO! Bland online RPG game! Summary: 1 Stars
I'll say it again Guild wars is not an MMO it's an online RPG. You don't fight in one large connected world you fight in instance zones where only you and your party exist. The game is seriously lacking on the replay factor. The story line isn't worth a second play through, and the fighting system could be better... much better. Your character can not accomplish anything in this game alone.
If you think your going to have a super strong character that can clear out zones think again. This isn't the game. You need a strong group to survive in this game. The Guildwars team did a good job at making all the characters equally weak. Yes, I said equally weak and not equally strong. It doesn't take much to KO in this game. Your health is only 500 or so and actually goes down to 300 or so if your using modified armor (yeah that makes sense GW! pentaly life for customizing strength). The lack of true strength in this game is really the down fall of the game. you only have 8 skills to choose from and the game really is just rockem sock em robots. Your skills may have different names, but the other guy has somehting similar that does about the same damage.
Your only limited to 8 skills and by far is what turned alot of people off on the game. You 8 skills just arent enough. You either brought the right skill set to survive, or your just out of luck. You spend a majority of your time making skill combinations till you either find something that works okay or sort of okay, but you will never find the end all skill set you really want.
The game play really leaves something to be desired. You mostly be running around a map and see a group of monsters... get to close and they all mindlessly chase and attack you. The artificial intellegence of the monsters is as good as those from Mario 1... they just mindlessly attack you and killing them unlike in Mario just isn't satisfying. They almost become annoying obsticals that just get in your way, which is actually just what they are. Sometimes you'll see just how bad the game programming is when 30 (not exagerated) monsters are chasing you because you may have gotten too close to just one of them.
Fighting mobs, and advancing from 1 area to the next is pretty much all this game is about. If you played the game for 15 minutes and completed 1 main quest then you have experience what all 4 games in the series are like. It never changes from that format. Its really sad because this game could have been great but it just doesn't have what it takes. It's popularity mainly due to people thinking the game is a free online MMO, when it's really just an online RPG game that can be played over and over again with various classes.
I give this game 1 star. It's too repetitive, and it just doesn't hold ones interest. You will be bored within the first hour of playing.
Customer Review: AWESOME GAME! AWESOME PRICE! EPIC! Summary: 5 StarsI have been playing World of Warcraft for a year now, and to tell you the truth...I'm tired of pay for play. I finally sat back and look at my time. Majority of my time is spent at work or doing some other necessary or family activity so $15/month really is getting wasted for nothing. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing WOW (65th Level Warrior), but for the time and price (sucky economy...)I needed a less expensive or free MMORPG. So I looked at the downloadable ones online. Some were pretty great ie. Perfect World and Shaiya. But Guild Wars, while having to pay for it initially but free forever, has them beat. The game is just as epic as World of Warcraft but with better graphics and designed like my favorite game, Diablo II. Trust me this game rocks!!! Soon as you begin you're in the story and it takes off from there. I have PVP'd yet (7th level warrior) but I'm already in a guild. Just my 2 cents but why pay for something for a month when the majority of your time isn't even playing the GAME??? That's just wasting $! Guild Wars is three different games set in the same world plus an expansion, and a sequel on the way. Buy it, play it. When you turn the game off, coins and cash stay were they should be, in YOUR POCKET!

Customer Review: Guild wars: The new WoW Summary: 5 StarsGuild wars is a lot of fun to play, and even look at! The graphics are top notch and the gameplay is smooth and fun. The system requirements for this game are VERY low. You should hardly need to upgrade anything (i noticed a bit of a RAM problem, but i was running vista with 512 MB so 1 GB more did the trick) and you'll probably get more out of the game then it cost you. It updates often, and, best of all, it's not a "World Of Warcraft". They "Axed" the subscription fees, so you can play... and play... and play... and keep playing. The game is very great and I recommend it for anybody into fantasy MMO's.
