I play RPGs and fighters on console. I don't try shooters on PC because they are basically 'all the same'.
I got this anthology because I remembered there was a game published looong time ago with beautiful nature scenes at the beginning that had some hardware demands my PC couldn't meet.
Unreal part one is really close to Undying, Alice and some other legendary shooters; you can fight, swim, explore...some levels are 10 minutes short, some are 60 minutes long and maps are vast. I felt as if I took a journey to another planet. Architecture is wonderful!
Unreal Tournament is cool if you want to shoot for 10 minutes, beat level, quit and continue other level when you have time. It is dynamic and point is usually to shoot dead other computer generated players 20 or 25 times - don't worry, they resurrect like you do when they shoot you. Short levels, short time, action paced addictive play.
Unreal Tournament 2004 is not only part one with better graphics. You can select warriors for team, manage team, play more different 'games' than before.
A word to wise: don't start it in expirienced or more difficult mode, it becomes real hard at the end if you play ladder.
Great quality-price ratio, games that are good even today and better designed than new megahits. Yes, they are FPS games almost without story, but very well done! Much better than Halo, in my opinion, which was overrated and short.
MINOR SPOILERS
Last boss is faster and shoots better than you, so my advice is: be patient, learn where things are, get all shields and important weapon and wait for your chance. If you get in one on one fight in close quarters you usually loose. Learn to know when to run and where to run!!! If you don't know what to do or where to find him, circle around and get pills and ammo...
One sure method to earn point at the beginning is to get on top of level and take him out from distance with minigun while he shoots weapon with delay (RPG, other kind of guns). If you lack concentration, turn off music and make short breaks during last showdown. It helped me, though it sounds ridiculous.
