I love "tycoon" games of all sorts. Zoo tycoon 2 and its expansion packs are great and most of the scenerios are fun (if not a little time consuming). You can zoom in and walk around the zoo like a guest as well as save yourself some money (in the game of course) by doing the zookeeper and maintenance tasks yourself.
This is a great, educational game for kids. They'll learn about many different animals and conservation efforts. It's also the sort of game that you could sit down and play with your kids.. help them out with planning and ideas and read about the different animals with them.
I'm also happy to see that Microsoft is donating money from the sales of this game to the World Wildlife Fund.. all the more reason to buy it :)

This is an awesome game! I'm the sort of person who doesn't like computer games much but I LOVE this one. It's very fun and rewarding to raise happy animals, and there is so much to do, which makes it very realistic; you have all the responsibilities of a real zoo, from your animals' to guests' happiness and satisfaction. It's so much fun adopting and taking care of animals. It takes a little while to get used to, but not too long, and once you do, you'll be hooked! My kids have spent hours on this game. They love the virtual animals and zoo, and especially being able to construct the zoo however they want. After I bought Zoo Tycoon 2 Double Edition I became addicted to it, it has better graphics than the first one and a great expasion pack, Endangered Species. It has alot more animals, like Koalas, Red Pandas and , Florida Panthers. So if you do buy Zoo Tycoon 2 BUY ENDANGERED SPECIES!Customer Review: The girls love it

My 8 year-old daughter and her best friends all have birthdays at about the same time, so I bought this game for all of them. They are addicted to it. They call each other and talk about it all the time. My daughter sets her alarm and wakes up an hour early so she can play it a while. They had a few problems to start, but they all figured it out and are looking forward to getting expansion packs!
