Video Game Reviews of Age of MythologyCustomer Review: Excellent game Summary: 5 StarsAge of Mythology is a great game! You take control of a civilization and lead it through the ages, creating vast armies and villagers to help gather four resources, food, wood, gold, and favor. There are three different civilizations, the Norse, Egyptian, and Greek, that all offer a different type of play. For instance, you can act as Zeus, the mighty Greek god, or play as Isis, an Egyptian goddess. There are also magnificent god powers at your disposal like a mighty earthquake that can shatter buildings or a tremendous lightning storm that can blow up armies! There is a stunning 36 scenario campaign with excellent cutscenes and a fantastic plot. And after you beat the campaign, there is always the joy of Random Map and playing online. In Random Map, there are many different terrains from Acropolis to Watering Hole that all offer different strategies to use. A new addition to Age of Mythology from Age of Empires is the use of myth units. Myth units can easily kill regular human soldiers, but watch out, heroes like Odysseus and Achilles can easily cut through myth units. One reason I loved this game is because of the diversity it offers. There are nine different major gods you can worship, three from each civilization. Also, each time you advance to the next age in a game, you choose to worship another god, (minor god), which grants you certain mythological units and a god power. Overall, this game is possibly the best ever PC game created.

Customer Review: Beautiful next step for Ensemble in the Age Series Summary: 5 StarsI have been a fan of the Age series ever since my best friend bought Age of Empires 2 years back. I thought it to be so cool to have a strategy game with historically realistic civilizations and the game play was really addictive. This game breaks from the mold in the realism factor, but the historical context is mostly accurate, while stepping up the game play about 10 notches Each of the civilizations in this game provide a markedly unique game play style, and the choice of gods throughout the game allows you to mold your civilization to fit your style or combat your opponent's strengths. The Egyptians are the slow-building, defensive civilization with expensive and powerful military units. The Norse are the quick-spreading offensive civ with cheap, weaker units. The Greeks provide a happy medium between the two and are most like the civs from the Age of Empires. The game play is so very unique, giving you the ability to make an army of Egyptian chariot archers mixed in with a legion of mummies or the legendary flying Phoenix. The graphics are beautifully crafted down to the seaweed swaying in the sea and the killer whales breaching out in the deep. The musical score is very deep, providing a unique musical backdrop when playing with each different civ. Overall this game is a masterpiece, as shown by its numerous accolades of game of the year. Anyone who loves to think strategically or just have a love of mythology and history should own this amazing game.
