Age of Mythology(Or AoM)is a fantastic game that not only is fun but also teachs mythology and about the real history of the Eygptians the Greeks and the Norse along with information on animals.In this game you must collect resorses to build your army and defeat your enemys while keeping your own town center safe.Not only do you have human soliders such as Toxotes and Ulfsarks you can also use powerful monsters such as Mummies Cyclops and Giants.Better yet you can use god powers that can change the tide of battle such as Metors Tornados and even sommon a Norse dragon named Nidhogg.For more chaos you can download more stuff from the Internet and have multiplayer games Online.And for more fun(Witch is amazing there can be anymore)you can buy the Titans Expanion witch adds 1 more civilazaton the Atlenteans!

I've played this for 3 yrs. and this game is amazing. the graphics are great. i play random map and these are good things about it.
1) the different civilazations give u cool my th units whoever u r. here are some tips if your norse
if u play river nile when u advance to the mythic age u choose the god for jormund elvers. then have ulf sarks make like 3 doks and hve each dok produce 15 jormunds. (this shoud use around 120 pop.) now u should have about 45 jormunds. if u make them into groups of 5 or 10 and place them around the enemys side of the river you can keep the enemy from bording ships. also make some kraken or wtv the other naval unit should b. those can harass any ships tht do make it onto waters. this way now tht u hve control of the river u can delete some jormunds for pop. and make a huge army. u board those into transports and overwhelm the enemy. (i reccommend about 20 ballistas in the army bcause massed ballisttas are good to take the enemy out b4 they reach u.
here are greek tips.
i like to make around 30 gold collossus and put 10 into each of 3 armys. sorruond the oher 20 in each army with hoplites for cavalry protection. toxotes for infantry protection and cavalry of both types for infantry and cavalry. if u want also put some petrobolis in them.
for egypt players... sorry i've never played on egypt so your on your own with them.

Customer Review: Fell short of an "Age" game.

I love PC strategy games. I have to say that "Age of Mythology" was a let-down from the progression of the "Age of Empires" titles. I think "Age of Mythology" was probably being used by Ensemble Studios as stop-gap money earner, and also a building block for the next game in their AOE series.
The Good: In Age of Mythology, Ensemble made the jump to a 3-D graphics engine, which is now expected from all RTS games by the gaming community. It also has that same "feel" of an "Age" game, and the same style and ease of use through the User-Interface. The cultural specialization of the games civilizations is also very well done.
The Bad: One word - "scale". While the rest of the RTS genre was going "Epic" - massive battles, huge fortifications, very large maps, complicated economies, yada, yada... Ensemble went small scale with "Age of Mythology". Don't expect to see more than around 120 units in any single army in this game. Also... the whole "Mytholgy" aspect may be a bit of a turn-off to those who are accustomed to the more "historical/real-world" background of the "Empires" series.
The ugly: Graphics - Even when "Age of Mythology" was released, the detail was lack-luster, and obtuse, even with all the graphic bells 'n' whistles turned on. Note to Ensemble - if your going to go small scale when building a game, you need to make the graphics spectacular.
My advice - if you are a big fan of the "Age of Empires" series, skip "Age of Mytholgy" altogether... hold out for "AOE III".

It is an excellent game, the graphs are good, the plot of the game entertains, in the dialogues there are funny things, although you grieve I am playing the first part I hope to have the Expansion soon, because the truth is an addicted game, it is Also amusing to play with another People Via Internet. Definitively this Game deserves perfect qualification 10/10.
