Video Game Reviews of Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs Expansion PackCustomer Review: My favorite expansion yet! Summary: 5 StarsThis is my favorite AOE expansion YET! I also appreciate the reality with which the game is produced. I think it makes the game experience better.
Customer Review: Takes AOE III to the next level Summary: 5 StarsFirst, let me make it clear that this is an expansion pack to Age of Empires III. You have to own a copy of that game first. I know that might trip some people up, so let's get that out of the way.
When I bought this game, I expected to get some new indian civilizations out of it. I got a lot more. First, all the graphics for the game are better - not just for the new civilizations but for all of them. Second, the indians come along with new cards (of course), but again also new cards for your other civilizations. Now I can have the French build a Saloon to train mercenaries. And the Dutch can train some Ninja's (who have a new stealth skill). Very fun! There are also several new maps which I really liked. Of course there is also a new Scenario in two Acts. I thought most of the levels in the Scenario were well done, but a couple of them were just annoying. That didn't stop me from playing through to the last one - Custer's Last Stand!
Some aspects of game play are also better for all civilizations: the healers, for example, just always heal anyone nearby who is resting. You no longer have to tell them to heal.
In short, I wasn't expected the whole AOE III to get better, but it did - in every way. I have really enjoyed this pack and am looking forward to purchasing the Asian Dynasties soon.
Customer Review: Thanks! Summary: 5 StarsWould definitely buy from this seller again. Came very quickly and in condition that was stated. Thanks!
Customer Review: War Chiefs Expansion Pack Summary: 4 StarsVery solid game steeped in history. I have been playing the age of empires franchies for about 10 years now. The graphics continue to improve and the range options create a wonderful blind of choices in leading your choice of civilization. However, I still feel the AI balance is tilted too far to the computer advantage. this is why I have marked the game down. In skimrmish mode, the AI continues to gang up and execute an all out assualt on your civilization taking away from some of the fun.
with that said, this still a very solid and fun game
Customer Review: Sweet expansion to a sweet game Summary: 5 StarsI love all the AOE games, and this one is no exception. AOE2: The Conquerors is still my favorite, but this one is second. AOE3 without the expansion is fun, but the expansion adds a lot of cool aspects. Revolting is great fun, and the Native American civs are alright. I can't quite say about the balance yet, but it seems decent.
