Video Game Reviews of Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures

Customer Review: favorite in the lego game series
Summary: 5 Stars

This game is so much fun because it takes you through the movie series. Sure it would be a bit more interesting if there was a script but instead there are just sound effects like crashing sounds and ominuous music. There are some parts of the game I found difficult to navigate with the keyboard, like certain jumps that seemed impossible. This game is a bit harder than the Batman Lego game but I found to be more fun, especially if you are familiar with the movies. If you like this one then I suggest the Star Wars 2 Lego game and the Batman Lego game. If you get stuck you can do walkthrough searches on the web and either find the guides or the cheat codes. My 7year old son loves all the Legos game, Batman the most.

Customer Review: Tons of Fun but Not Perfect
Summary: 3 Stars

I've enjoyed many evenings playing this game with my seven-year-old. The game itself is a lot of fun. It fairly closely follows the plot lines of the first three Indiana Jones movies. However, it does have some significant drawbacks:

1. This game does NOT work with my brand new Logitech RumblePad 2 controller that I bought specifically for Lego Star Wars II PC Game. From reading other reviews I understand that the only controller that really works for Lego Indiana Jones is the XBox 360 controller. I've ordered one of those but resent shelling out another $40 when I just bought a Logitech controller that was highly recommended for all PC games. What's the deal LucasArts???? For now we're stuck using the keyboard to play this game.

2. When we first started playing the game it was EXTREMELY SLOW. From reading other comments we learned that you have to go into the games options and turn down all the special effects like shading, etc. Once these were all turned down or off the game works great.

Overall this game is a lot of fun but I'm VERY disappointed about the lack of compatibility with Logitech controllers and I think they need to put some kind of warning about how to fix game slowness. My computer is only 6 months old. You would think the game should work well out of the box. I recommend the game but if you're going to purchase it be forewarned about the issues mentioned above.

Customer Review: Hours and hours and hours and hours and.... fun!
Summary: 5 Stars

Our eight year old won't quit playing this game. We are using it as a reward for good days at school.

Our old-ish computer runs it okay most of the time. Be sure you have more computer power than the box requires. We have the basics but it taxes the computer at times.

He also has Lego Star Wars II. We hope to add to this Lego Star Wars I as a gift later.

Buying this computer game was MUCH, MUCH cheaper than buying a game system. Just wish there was a Linux version!!!

Customer Review: Loads of fun
Summary: 4 Stars

Traveller's Tales returns with another Lego-based game, this time focusing on the Indiana Jones franchise after conquering the world of Star Wars. Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures is exactly what the title implies: the original Indy trilogy in Lego form. It should be noted right now that if you've played any of the Lego Star Wars games, you'll feel right at home here. The gameplay itself is relatively simple, family friendly fun that nearly anyone can pick up and play. Co-op mode is where the real fun of Lego Indiana Jones is to be had though, and like Lego Star Wars before it, the game just has a sense of undeniable charm to it that you can't help but get some enjoyment in the very least out of it. It may not take you too long to breeze through the game though, but if you do, it is worth going back and playing again just to catch all the game's in-jokes and visual gags, along with a horde of hidden items and goodies as well. If there's any real flaws to the game, it's that the AI isn't all that good in terms of enemies and AI-controlled pals, but as a whole, Lego Indiana Jones is massively enjoyable. All in all, Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures continues the tradition of wonderfully fun and family friendly games, and is definitely worth picking up for Indy fans or anyone looking for some good clean fun.
