This game is simply awesome. If you like space sims or sci-fi stories, then you'll get wrapped up in Freespace.
But fortunately for you, this game is open source now, and has been improved upon by many various programmers and hobbyists to include features the base game never had (like much higher resolutions.)
Look for the open source freespace project online, with a complete and accurate conversion of the original freepsace & silent threat campaigns. These modded open source versions have higher resolutions, improved effects, and better support on modern hardware.
