At a glance: Minus two stars because it's advertised functionality is not entirely usable. Minus another star because manufacturer support is non-existent.
I ordered this adapter so I could use all of my PS2 controllers on my pc. For the basic dual shock controllers, everything works perfectly including force feedback and analog/digital mode switch. The hardware only fails when it comes to using a dance mat controller.
According to the above description, it's supposed to have full support for this function, however (at least with Vista x64) this is not the case. The hardware treats the directional arrows as though they are a joystick instead of individual buttons. Because of this, you are unable to press left + right or up + down simultaneously (left+up, right+down, etc. work fine)
After spending the last 6 hours troubleshooting the issue, it simply appears as though this functionality is not exposed in the Vista x64 version of the driver. Some users have had luck in other operating systems using an exposed option in the game controller properties or pressing the combination Select+Start+Up, however neither of these options have worked for me. I've tried many different driver versions including some for similar devices from various manufacturers. Nothing works.
I should note here that I'm fairly computer literate. I've had significant exposure to drivers and device interfaces, so it is not a simple lack of knowledge that has lead me to this conclusion.
A possible explanation for why this works for some users and not others is that there appear to be several companies that make nearly identical (and unmarked) units. Some seem to work and some do not. All manufacturers are China-based making support within the US nearly non-existent.
Final verdict: If you want to use your PS2 gamepads, this will work well. If you want to use dance mats, ignore the deceptively advertised support for this feature.
