Hot Date is an expansion pack that is a little . . . a little more romantic. But there's nothing on it so terribly inappropriate that an 11 year old can't deal with it. 11 year-olds hear about sex and all that stuff in school. They know what kissing is. They know what making out is. (If she doesn't know what that is, then she goes to a very nice school.) The only thing that is somewhat naughty about this game is the love tub. (For anyone who doesn't know, it's a hot-tub in the shape of a heart, and the Sims can get in it and "Play" if you choose for them to. The love bed did not come with this expansion pack, it came with the regular sims.) If there's something offensive in the expansion pack, then don't complain about it. There's a simple solution. Don't have your daughter buy those items for the house and if the entire game is for some reason offensive to you, then just don't play it. Just play the sims like your normally would without the expansion pack.
As for the rating, rating it up to 15 years old is not a good idea. I'm 14 years old, and I was able to deal with the game just fine. We see worse things then this on the news and in movies.
If you didn't want your daughter to be exposed to this, then maybe you should have thought twice about getting her an expansion pack by the name of HOT DATE.
I think it is a good thing that you are trying to protect your daughter, but, really, there is nothing in the game that is as bad as you make it sound.
Hot Date is my favorite expansion pack. Wonderful and great, it is definitely the best thing to ever happen to my Sims, and I would reccommend it to anyone, even 11 year olds.
First off, I'll start with the pros of the game: I like the new downtown area and the fact that you can take other sims out on dates. There's more interaction choices. Like, instead of commanding them to just kiss; you have different kinds of kisses: Suave, Peck, Polite, Passionate, Romantic, and Firey. This is definetely more fun. Also, there are up to 125+ new items which are very funas well. There's a jukebox, a Lover's Swing, and much more.
Now, the cons: On your date, you can only control one of the characters on the date; even if the other one on the date lives in your household as well. It's sort of frustrating because the other sim will wander off when you're trying to get the other sim to kiss it or something. Also, when you install hot date and start playing, half of the objects from previous sim games are missing. Such as, sometimes the doors are missing, the vibrating heart bed is gone, and other fun pieces of furniture "cannot be loaded". It's tiresome. Also, the time goes by too fast. I mean, it takes one whole hour for a sim to go to the bathroom, and six hours to have a meal at a restaraunt.
Anyway, what the game lacks in gameplay, it makes up for in fun. I would give the game without the glitches, 6 stars. But the glitches frustrate me so badly, that it got marked down to 4.5. I would still highly recommend this game.
