Customer Review: FUN!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have bought several of the Sims games for my daughter and sometimes had trouble playing them and would have to uninstall and reinstall anytime she wanted to play a different one. I bought this set for her birthday and she has played it for HOURS!!! She hasn't had ANY trouble installing or playing the different games. I would recommend it for the avid Sims fan!!!!

Customer Review: Worth It!
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought Sims 2, then the Original Sims Pack. I absoltley have been spoiled by Sims 2. The orginal Sims offers next to no character customization. You have to go with all the pre fabricated bodies and heads, and it will be jarring if you're used to having options! (That's what brought my review down to 4)Some of them are weird (think Xena). That said, you can still find normal Sims.

If you've ever fantazised about having a roller coaster in your backyard, this game is for you. Sims Makin' Magic puts a black hole in your yard so all you have to do is jump. The roller coaster is a lifesaver for the fun need. Your Sims social, and fun needs are also met by watching a show.

I haven't used the vacation mode yet becuase it costs 500.00. My Sim likes to buy stuff for her house instead. I love Superstar. You can get money by being a Model, Actress or Musician or try all three(trying all three ups your star level). I much prefer Superstar to having a regular job. The Obseesed fan is kind of creepy though. He'll actually walk into your Sims house, and leaves before your Sim has a chance to call the cops who do nothing. You can turn him into a toad though, thanks to the Magic expansion. Also love the stray pets running around. It gives you the benefits of having a pet without the responsibility.I wish they would stop falling asleep in the middle of the road. What pet stays asleep - in the road of a car! - when the car is honking it's horn?!

The only other real drawback is if you've never played any of these games before, getting them all at once is overwhelming.

Customer Review: A graphics dinasour
Summary: 3 Stars

After having only known, played, and become a die-hard fan of The Sims 2, I bought this TS1 collection out of sheer curiosity. Boy oh boy was I surprised when I installed it. I never would have guessed the huge difference in graphics quality (or lack thereof) in this game in comparison with The Sims 2. I've never seen such a giant leap in game and graphics quality between game versions until now. I'm SO glad I already have The Sims 2, along with all of the expansion packs and add-ons, to keep me entertained, but this was at least worth the cost to check it out and to collect. It also comes with all of the expansion packs already included, too so that's a big time/money saver. I may fiddle around with this version a bit more in the future, but I'm quite thoroughly satisfied with The Sims 2 and it's hard to take such a big step backward graphics-wise and quality-wise and still have as much fun. So I'm only giving this 3 stars.

Customer Review: Still Fun - Even After The Release Of TS2
Summary: 4 Stars

The Sims is old, yes. And after the release of its sequel, still playing TS1 probably seems pointless and boring, as it doesn't have nearly as many features as TS2. But still, even without the fancy 3-D graphics and complex features, I have continued to find TS1 just as fun as I did the day I bought it... 5 years ago, and sometimes find myself playing it more than TS2, for a couple reasons:

Even on a perfect computer that more than meets all the requirements (which is what I have), TS2 will still run slow if you have downloaded a lot of custom content (which is pretty much required to add variety and fun to TS2), and also if you build large lots. Although TS1 also has this problem, it's not nearly as bad.

And of course - the expansion packs are way better on TS1! You can tell they were thought out well and tested thoroughly. With TS2, the expansion/stuff packs (not including University, Nightlife & Pets - those were good) seem like they were just thrown together, and then released without any testing whatsoever. The amount of bugs that Open For Business had was enough to make me uninstall it until someone released some hacks/patches that would fix it, and even after it worked, it was incredibly boring. Family Fun Stuff and Glamour Life Stuff were just a waste of money; I haven't used any of the extra content that they installed into the game.

So, what it all comes down to is this:

If you have The Sims 2, but have never played the original Sims, then I suggest you buy this product, and try it out. Even though it's the same concept of TS2, it's a total different experience in itself.

If you have played the original Sims, but uninstalled it due to TS2, then I would suggest re-installing it, even just temporarily, and playing it again, because you might just agree that, in some ways, it is better than TS2.
