Video Game Reviews of The Sims 2Customer Review: Excellent! Summary: 4 StarsMy sister and I got this game two years ago. We loved Sims 1, so Sims 2 was on the top of our birthday lists. We finally got it, and we love it! I'll list the Pros and Cons so you can see how they add up, but the pros outweigh the cons by far.
Pros:
*Graphics are excellent. Sims move in a very realistic manner, and the objects can be combined to make beautiful living rooms, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
*With your game comes a whole boatload of new interactions. Child Sims can play "Cops and Robbers", "Mary Mack", and Rock-Paper-Scissors. Got a pregnant Sim? Other Sims can talk to the baby, and come congratulate the mother when she gives birth.
*New elements of aging and aspirations add depth to the game. Babies grow into toddlers, toddlers into children, children into teens, and so on. Once a Sim becomes a teenager, youi can choose what aspiration (family, popularity, romance, knowledge, and fortune) you want them to pursue. Different wants and fears come of different aspirations. For example, a Popularity Sim will want to win a game, and fear losing a game. Knowledge sims want to see a ghost, or gain a mechanical skill point.
Cons:
*Loading times are pretty long, and they only get longer with each expansion.
*I've had a few strange glitches while playing. For example, when a particular sim brings a toddler to the cake to help him grow up, he doesn't put the toddler down and as a result, the new child will be standing on his shoulders, and then the adult sim will put him down as if the child was a toddler. Strange, I know.
Misc.:
*There is apparently a big hubbub about the whole Woo-Hoo thing. I would just like to point out a few things:
1. It's well covered. You can't see anything that's going on.
2. You can move the mouse so that you don't anything but a scenic view of the backyard or the living room and then turn the volume off, if you're that unhappy about it.
3. Try to be mature about it and don't stop your child from playing the game just for that factor.
4. If you personally are unhappy about it, but you still want your Sims to have kids, have your sim pick up the phone, call services, and adopt a child.
*Get the expansion packs. They are really fun and add things like dating, going to college, getting a pet, opening a business, and having seasons. What could be better.
I hope this review helped you. This is a great game, and certainly worth every penny!
Customer Review: Sims 2...a must. Summary: 5 StarsThis is a great game...
no doubt.
Also, I have no clue why people are freaking out because of the fact that your sims can "woohoo". You can do this in the earlier versions.
So, if it's so gross don't do it. Parents, don't freak out if you don't want your kids to do it just tell them. Don't prevent your kids from this game. People are stupid. It's no big deal. This is a great game and those people are SQUARES.
sry lol.
Hope this helps
Customer Review: PLEASE help me! Summary: 5 StarsI just bought The Sims 2 for PC and it didn't come with a code that I could type in to get the game starting so I can't play it. That totally sucks! If you have any ideas to help me, write another review helping me. I gave it 5 stars because I read other rewiews and it sounded fun.
Customer Review: The Sims 2 Summary: 5 StarsLong before I owned any of the other Expansion Packs and Stuff Packs, the original Sims 2 was still very cool! I now own ever last Expansion Pack and Stuff Pack. Every last one of them was worth the wait and the money spent! I just can't get enough of this game! You lose track of time during game play and you really do have a bunch of fun! Love it!
Customer Review: What's with the "Woo hoo" thing? Summary: 5 StarsHey, just wanted to tell everybody that the woo hoo is all hidden under the covers, I mean it doesn't show anything... My 9 year old sister watched me do woo hoo on the sims. She doesn't care. Neither do I. Nobody cares because it's just all hidden and everything. As for the game, it's fun because you can make your own characters and make them have their own adventures if you like.
Plus to a reviewer down there, I'm 11 years old so this game is ok for everybody. Parents, please don't listen to those guys because the sims 2 is really ok.
