This is the best PC game out there! I got this game right after my birthday and I can't stop playing. I used to play sims 1, and was confused with sims 2 at first. getting a good house is difficult, but after a while you get used to it. it takes a while to load, especially after you get the expansion packs. but I learned that you can "share" your sims games with friends. This saves a LOT of money. The sims are more self-sufficient now; they take care of their own needs and get their own food out of the oven :)I recommend getting some expansion packs because it greatly enhances your game play. I got this game for a gift, and honestly its probably not something I would buy myself.
The game its self is very fun...until it gets boring that is. I must say that didn't take to long. I guess it just seemed tedious to feed my Sim, clean up after my digital family, etc.
I will admit I build houses religiously, and quickly found this to be the most fun in the game. I also had to laugh when my buddy told me to put in a pool, and have my Sim hop in for a quick swim...then like the hand of god remove his ladder, quite evil yet hilarious. :)
The graphics are actually very good in this game (which really weighted my 4 star review) I love how the flowers and trees are so detailed, actually everything from the outdoor grill, to the fish tank looks excellent.
Sound is not that impressive, though I'm not sure how it could be in a game like this...and the Sims "talking" will make you wanna punch a puppy after about 10 minutes!
Overall this game is fun for the most part. The house designing feature is a blast, and keeps my attention for a decent length of time. I feel the younger age groups may like the actual game play, and take advantage of the various expansion packs available.

In the very first of it you could do very great stuff like have very great options on looks on people and their personality, creat amazing houses and run their life.
These was the problems:1. it started crashing on every disc.every time i tried to play all these blue stuffcame around the screen.2.all my discs started doing it. it was like all my cds were one they all did it.3. my computer froze. my whole computer slowed and slowed and slowed because of all the mega bites it took up.
i guess thats it.

The game won't play on my computer. Book Mavericks have a 3 day guarantee and it was past that when I got the game, so they would not refund my money and said they did not have a replacement to send. I tried to talk to EA games about the problem and they said the drivers on my computer were out dated, as that did not fix the problem either I'm just going to cut my losses and Garage sale the game sometime this summer.
