Customer Review: Fantastic Game

While I understand the annoyance of the DRM-complaints, the game itself is a separate topic, and should not be detracted from. This is one of the coolest games I have ever seen or played. I purchased it for my seven-year old right when it came out. My son is very interested in evolution, science, computers and critters. He loves it and has had many happy hours playing Spore, both alone and with friends taking turns creating and running each other's creations. I feel it has taught him valuable lessons about getting along with others (making allies, standing up to bullies, working as a team, etc) that he has turned around into real-world behaviors, and it has been exciting to watch him express his creativity in his Spore creations. Spore is very VERY well done, and I think it was worth every penny - I'm very glad I bought it and look forward to the Galactic Adventures expansion pack coming out.
In addition to how much we've enjoyed the game, I enjoyed watching the DVDs in the Galactic Edition - National Geographic always does a great job with their DVDs, and this is no exception.

I really don't need to install this game three times. So seeing all the 1 star reviews with people that haven't played it kinda makes me mad. This game is great, it's a long game, and you can just mess around the with creature creator if you want. I have never had such a bad experience with installing a computer game. The DRM system is awful, unreliable, and wasted a ton of my time. Instead of playing with my kids, I had to be the computer guy for hours. EA is not paying for my time, so that hurt. I am a computer consultant, I know this stuff. I bought three copies from Amazon, so that I could have a copy as well as my kids. From the moment we got locked out of the first install, becuase my 10 year old had a typo in his email address, to problems with Vista, I have tried stubbornly to work through each issue. And at every step, instead of help from EA, I got resistance, denials, and useless suggestions.
I am giving up and returning them all. there is no way I can enjoy playing the game after so much pain installing it.

There are many things I do these days for my kids and only for my kids. I shop at Vons because they want Pop-Tarts and greesy Ritz crackers for instance. My kids love this game. I find it to be very disturbing. It will download, install updates, and reboot their machines -- even when the game isn't running! It won't run when you don't have an open internet connection. This thing is soooo Bush/Cheney era. I wouldn't be surprised if the license agreement has me signing over my house and family. When my kids tire of it, I will do my best to purge it and I will do my best to avoid EA Games' creepy work in the future.Customer Review: Best game EVER!!!

This is the funnest video game since Snake! I love finding skeletons to unlock new body parts. I am on the civilization stage and it is very hard. Often when I am supposed to be working, I find myself playing Spore. The graphics are A+++! My science teacher suggested this game to me to better understand the concept of evolution. And boy did it help. Not only is this game educational and fun, it is also complicated and addicting. I enjoy to chose to attack or befriend tribes and creatures. The poster is very cool to look at. Just a little tip: keep the filter mouth- you will need it later in the game. I gave this product five stars, but not Electronic Arts. EA Games gets four stars because they treat EVERYBODY like a criminal. I mean "Verify your password", "Enter the security code" Only three downloads allowed." Overall though, it is an excellent game and makes a great gift. Even small children (5+) can play it. It is rated E-10 but there is no "Animated Blood." Buy this game NOW!!!!!! A+++++++!!!!!!!!!!!!!
