Video Game Reviews of Rail Simulator

Customer Review: Rail Simulator
Summary: 3 Stars

The product is better than average simulator but is short on documents and help. A map of the different scenarios would enhance the game play. It is hard to find the proper track. With some add-ons the game does not properly load some scenarios correctly all the time. Some patches need to update the errors and maps to make better play, also to increase rating

Customer Review: Henry's Made a Lady Out Of Lizzie.
Summary: 4 Stars

Well, that's a 1928 hit parade ditty about Ford's model A replacing his ancient T.

But in 2008 Mr. Bill will not be upgrading his MSTS: He has instead announced that all members of the design team creating version 2 of MSTS are no longer on the payroll. The only update game in town for a long time to come will be Rail Simulator by Kujo (who also designed the first MSTS for Microsoft).

And now a year after release we finally have the Mk2 patch with some major improvements, including:

1) Dynamic brakes now work (but only in expert mode).
2) A whole lot of corrections to the signaling schemes to end most of the annoying problems of trains fighting to gain access to their routes with clear track ahead.
3) More resolutions (fifty-two instead of four) are now supported so that almost any monitor can be run at its native setting. This can mean higher f.p.s., it sure did on my laptop, 1280 x 800 now being one of the new choices.

I'm not complaining (any longer).

Customer Review: Pretty good game
Summary: 4 Stars

I got this game christmas and it's pretty good. I wish there were more missions and more UP trains and of course more Steam trains. I find it to be way better than Microsoft train simulator. The game is very realsitic. I just wish you could add a radio so you could our own music or something.

The graphics are REALlY good. They are WAY better than Microsoft train simulator. But you have to have a good system to run it. I have a Nividia Geforce 7300GT and it lags badly with everything on full.

All in all I would recommend this game to anyone. Have fun.

Customer Review: RailSim
Summary: 5 Stars

Excellent graphics and a wide variety of scenarios sure to please a train enthusiast. My only wish was that there were better playing guides included, such as how to set switches, etc...

Customer Review: Retionalistic Simula
Summary: 4 Stars

Rail Simulator works as described. I spent many hours learning operations and driving the trains.
