Video Game Reviews of NASCAR Sim RacingCustomer Review: Pretty Good Summary: 4 StarsThis game covers alot of the aspects of real life racing. One good thing is that they have included very persise telemetry which allows you to tweak a car to your percise likings. Another great but not so great features is ultra realalistic racing physics. You have to remember that this is the exact same racing simulator that dale, jr and jeff gordon uses before a race. What you need to do in order to really bring out the enjoyment of the game is to get a USB steering wheel so you can be precise with your controls.
Customer Review: I got ripped off Summary: 1 StarsThis game is not playable, EA Sports did not get the basics right. For instance random black flags, and ejections from races. The online code is horrible. They promised a patch, we got it. It did not fix much. I feel like I donated $40 to EA because I used it a few times and it was not playable. Save your money. Stick with NASCAR Racing 2003, it's light years ahead of EA's SimRacing 2005.
Customer Review: Solid game but still not better than Papyrus Summary: 4 StarsThe Nascar Sim Racing (NASCAR Thunder) is a good game, there is nothing wrong with it, but people who have played Nascar Racing 2003 Season will tell you its not close. The graphics of Nascar Sim Racing are nice and sharp you can customize how you see your game.
Many of the new features like the no more race to the line for a yellow flag and the nascar chase for the cup is here. all of the rules are in this game which is a plus. The Craftsman Trucks, Busch, and Nextel cups and tracks are in this game. One point to make which is very sad. the Pocono Raceway is not here. That track is one of the most unique on the circuit, why did EA forget? The career mode is fun and EA has added fun stuff to do like sell merchandise, and get sponsers to sign with your team. Many of the great features help make this a great game.
Cons: You need a very high end computer to run it at full max.
The gameplay is not life like to the real thing. In Papyrus games, you could lightly hit someone at the tail and there would be a crash. In this game the computer cars are like glue and they find a way not to crash. Even though the gameplay is a little on the arcady side, its still a fun game to buy.
Customer Review: everything a game shouldn't be- SHAME on EA! Summary: 1 StarsTwo words: it sucks!! I sold mine on eBay and got some money back. EA makes some good games and why they'd put out a stinker like this is beyond me.
Customer Review: This game sucks. Big surprise. Summary: 1 StarsEA has failed once again. If you are looking for a realistic Nascar sim, then do not buy this game, or any other Nascar game from EA Sports for that matter. The graphics on this game are great, but the whole thing is just so unrealistic.I really thought it would be different this time but as always EA does not live up to my expectations. If you want a true Nascar sim any of the Nascar games from Papyrus is your best bet, i highly recommend Nascar racing 2003 season, 2002 season, or nascar racing 4 all Papyrus games.
