Customer Review: Press the big shiny red button 9 times!!!!
Summary: 3 Stars

Its a basic rts game, stragetic is not requried as it boils down to over running the enemy base with tanks or whatnot, there is not point in trying to be tatical, i.e hidden troops and stuff as it the computer AI, is great at cheating and will know where you are, who you are and what kind of sweaty gamer you are, be warned THEY KNOW YOU!!!

Well ok, maybe not that much, but ya know what i mean!

The missions are straightforward and simple, get from point a to b, destroy c. Occasionally there are missions with no base for you which i guess requires some logic in completing the level, basically there'l be 3 routes, choose route B and die, choose route C barely make it, choose route A for survival, you know.

The game is predictable and the movie sequences, dull boring and repititive, much like the gameplay.

However it is still fun to play, especially in multiplayer, where i was able to go on the hardest mode against multiple enemys and still win. Its funny being America and fighting america etc. You'll get lots of satisfaction about going the GLA and being somewhat sneaky in your fighting. Even more enjoyable is how easy it is to defend your base and build 9 nuclear missiles (each group has there special nasty weapon, to then release 9 missiles of nuclear devasatation on a big build of the enemys troops. (all they do is clump together), sheesh.

Other good factors are the point system, you gain expierances and have access to special attacks, like parachuting troops and whatnot, whilst troops and tanks gain expierance fighting the tyrany of their enemies.

This game is nothing without the exspansion pack, if you loved playing the multiplayer mode for the humouros effect, then you'll love having a level 3 star autogun macine (chinese) trooper take out a tank or even a friggan overlord, or sending atleast 50 suicide motorbikest into the enemies base.

((Lots of people think this game is racist, its a game, nothing more nothing less. it uses sterotypical views on different ethnic groups, americans, chinese, 'terrorist'. Ok, we know not all terrorist where balaclavas and their leaders torture prisioners, pfft. if people have to rant about the ethnic rights of this game (kinda like i am ?.?) then its pretty sad, enjoy the average game.

Customer Review: greatest friggin' game ever!

I love this game! My favorite army is the GLA. Even though they don't have much in the technology field, they still mange to be a formidable opponent.

Customer Review: awesome game

i think this is the best command & conquer game ever. great graphics and entertaining, a lot better with expantion pack

Customer Review: good, but it's not a C&C game
Summary: 2 Stars

Unlike other reviewers on this site, I didn't experience any skips or slowdowns with this game. I'm running a 1.1 athalon and a 64 meg Nvidia 256. To be fair, I also have about 512 megs of ram wich probably helped.

The game itself was.... generic. Politically, this game should make anyone with any kind of knowledge of world events sick. The plot, such as it is, so oversimplifies world events that you really almost feel guilty for playing such a narrow, closed minded, flag waving cartoon of life. If the gameplay wasn't at least halfway decent, most people wouldn't play this at all. And gameplay is where this game departs, radically from the rest of the series.

Make no mistake, this is NOT C&C as you know and love it. In fact, the first time I got a good look at the game screen I was reminded of Blizzards 'Craft series of games. The command bar is on the bottom of the screen rather than on the side and you have to make Bulldozers (peons?) to build structures. Aside from that the old staples of C&C are still there... kind of. You still have to watch your power supply and you still gather the one resource of the game automatically, more or less. The problem I have with this game is that the few small changes to the game play make the whole thing look and feel more like a modern day version of Starcraft than C&C. The result is a game that feels generic in every way. Oh yeah, and the AI is even weaker than that of RA2.

All said and done, this is a well made RTS. This is not C&C as we've known it and if you expect it to be you will be disappointed. If you're looking for a traditional RTS to fill your time, there are cheaper games out there that do the exact same thing. What this game gets in graphical power, it loses in overall design. Buy Age of Mythology or Warcraft 3 if this is your thing. If however, you're a die hard C&C fan, you should just keep playing Red Alert 2 and wait patiently for the next part of the series to come out.

Customer Review: C&C:Generals Kicks Ass

I first played this game with my friend at a computer store. We found it quite easy to get a grip on as it is easy instructions. We found it to be highly enjoyable, and have been talking about it ever since then. Although there are only three armies to choose from, they have an extremely wide variety of technology. I always play as China, and my friend plays as USA. We tried the GLA but thought they were cr4p.
