Customer Review: It's ok, but not really

I bought this with high expectations that it would be among the best of RTS as the older versions have been in years past. This turns out to be a major disappointment. When playing GDI, units tend to look so similar that is difficult to identify them at first glance. Is that an APC or a harvester or something else? Is that a rifleman or a grenade thrower? Everything just blends together sort of. The previous version of C&C - Tiberian Sun - was awesome. Units were visually interesting and distinctive.
Then there's other issues such as base and unit management. Click on the repair icon to repair base structures. Need to quickly go back to managing units? Not until you click that repair icon again. It didn't used to be that way.
The AI tends to just build units very quickly and then throw them at you in wave after wave. Usually it's just a matter to slip past the enemy masses and pretty easily destroy their base.
I haven't even played the whole game and already it has become boring and tedious. Want to have good fun? You're better off going back to playing Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2. I hope they had a different team of designers and programmers working on Red Alert 3, because the ones that created this have failed to hold up the C&C tradition of providing great or even good gameplay. As Morgan Webb would say, this game gets just 2 Tiberium Crystals out of 5.
