Customer Review: 2142 - 2 Years Old - And Worth Another Look

I have played this game on and off for 2 years. So I know this game well. Some people have written some seriously misleading reviews about this game. So here is some clarification.
This is a 1-10 scale for this game in the following categories:
Graphics: 9 nice effects, big maps, looks great at 1920 X 1080 rez
Sound: 9 realistic, crisp, surround sound capable
Fun: 10 in game voice comms, lots of weapons, aircraft, vehicles
Multiplayer: 10 Squad based combat at its best.
Learning Curve: 7 Complex strategy. no problem for experienced FPSers
Stability: 3 EA should be embarrassed this game is still so buggy
Replay-ability: 8 This is a multiplayer game at heart and always entertains
This game is the most fun multiplayer fps game I have ever played. And I have played many. BF2142 is balanced, has well thought out maps, and gives you a wide variety of ways to outfit your soldier. The "leveling" style character advancement is really addictive and makes you want to win awards, pins, and badges for extra points to increase your rank and unlock new weapons and tools. I could write 2 pages about all the features and how they really work well, but I want to keep this short. I would, however, like to address a few issues in other reviews which I have read... Yes it is based off of BF2. So what? It makes many improvements from BF2. With the new price cuts taking the deluxe edition to below twenty it is a must have for any FPS fan. That said, some people have serious issues with hanging/crashing and getting Punkbusted from servers at times. Even so, especially at discounted prices, its worth it. For me, and most of the guys I play with, it runs fine 95% of the time. A small portion (maybe 1%) of people will never get it to work, as is the case with many PC games. I think that is where a lot of these angry reviews come from (a small % of users). Many of the bugs these reviewers wrote about have been fixed. Take note of how long ago they were written. Also, The in-game advertisements are a joke. You don't even notice them as they blend into the scenery. There is no spyware or malware, just in game ads you never notice or pay attention to. Those are really the only complaints worth mentioning. If it were not for the stability issues, this game would be near perfection.
If you have a group of guys that you play fps games with, like a clan, get this game, get in a squad, and get ready to have serious fun.
