Love the game buy it every season, don't really care for the custom tycoon building stadiums end of it though. Who has time for that? Anyway they still need to focus on players jerseys actually getting dirty when it rains or even on grass. The foot prints in the snow is gone from 2003?? Step in detail backwards?? Maybe EA will do that in 2005 or 2006 to hack some more cash off us. Like others have mentioned though the AI cheats bigtime.....I mean very urealistic...you can be up by 17 pts with just over 2min left and by magic the PC will find a way to win...come on guys get real. First let me say I love the Madden series and I think the Franchise/owner mode is awesome as long as you don't play the games. If you get this game, make sure you only play online or against other humans, because playing the computer is so frustrating and a disgrace. I don't mind it being difficult to play the computer, I enjoy the challenge. I wouldn't mind if I was getting beat fair and square every game but the computer flat out cheats to win them. I can't even begin to explain all the ways the computer cheats. Case in point are fumbles. The computer uses them to make any game close. This really sucks because you have no control over them as opposed to interceptions which are far too common but at least you can mostly avoid them. No lead is safe, I lost a game when I was up by 11 with 1:40 left due to a bomb and a fumble. This takes all the fun out of the game. What's worse is you waste 45 minutes of your life playing this game only to have it lost in the last couple of minutes. I am a good experienced player but I have totally given up playing the computer because of this frustration. Take my advice and have fun being the GM because if you decide to play you're probably going to break lots of things.Customer Review: Great Game with many cool features but problems lag game

This year's Madden 2004 is probably one of the best football games out there today. Some of the cool features are the Playmaker Control...Of course you will need a good gamepad, I have heard that some of those controllers may not work for this game. Another is the new owner mode, I seems as if Madden 2004 is becoming into a Madden Tycoon game. This feature lets you be the owner of the francise and set prices and own your team. Make sure you win and fan support will still be there. But if you don't want to deal with the business of football, you can turn the owner mode off and the game turns back into the orginal francise mode. Francise mode is deep, this years edition include pratice squads where you can pratice your players on the field and their ratings go up for the next game. This years edition takes a lot of space and most likely a new video card...be ready to upgrade.The problems that have lagged this game are the gameplay mechanics. Problems include late game heroics where you could have a lead and the CPU cheats to win on the Madden diffuculity. You could have a lead against the LIONS 21 to 0 and the game cheats at the end to make the lion win. Very frustrating. Configuring your controller can take days to record and memorize them all and they should simplify this because no one has time to remember these all.

I don't know what these people are talking about, a cheat bug?... If you suck you suck. I play the game on All-Madden mode and win almost all the time. Yeah sometimes you see some stupid plays, but hey, even the Bucs can blow a 21 point lead on Monday night football, at Tampa. If you are going to be a...baby about losing a game then don't play the game or down grade it.... This is the best realistic football game on the market...
