Customer Review: Good...not Great

I have never played the MVP Baseball series, but after hearing so much about the game (how great it is, etc) I decided to give it a try. I have been playing Madden NFL from EASports for years and love what they have done for that game in terms of Dynasty Mode, etc. My big complaint with MVP Baseball is that when you are in Dynasty Mode you cannot set ticket prices, merchandise prices, food prices, upgrade your stadium, all of the cool stuff you can do with Madden. I figured that this being an EASports brand game that they would have put that stuff in there. Stuff that makes Madden over-the-top great. As a Montreal Expos fan, I can't tell you how much I wish I could move that team out of Montreal/Puerto Rico and build them a nice state-of-the-art stadium in Northern Virginia where my Redskins play, but the yahoo's at EASports DIDN'T GIVE ME THAT OPTION! I would easily have given this game 5 Stars, but this lack of control over every aspect of the team left me wanting MORE from this game.In terms of the actual game, it's pretty good. The players seem to make way too many "ESPN Highlight" catches...like 8 to 10 a game, which seems a bit much, but all in all, it's a solid game. There are a few minor things that I would fix, if they asked me, but it's a fun game that I have a hard time pulling myself away from. Now if they would just pump some steriods into their Dynasty Mode, and give us all the goodies that Madden enjoys, all would be well.

Lefty hitters expirence a power outage.The ball only goes maybe 75% as far compared to RHB's
and Jose Gullien's arm stregth is a 70. HE HAS A CANNON FOR A ARM. What's up with that ?
And the dynasty Mode is seriously messed up cause minor league players never turn out to be any better than avg players.

This is by far the best baseball game I have ever played in a long time! I really mean it! I have always bought other baseball games and I did not get MVP baseball 2003 last year. So after reading the reviews on it. I was very impressed with the game. Don't turn down this game because people are complaning about the controller. Just go out and buy one if you don't have that specific controller. People should read about what supports the game before they go out and buy it. Overall it is worth your money!Customer Review: Nice!!

Well, although by shear luck, I happend to buy a Saitek P880 about a month ago and have not been struck by the ludicrous limitation of supported controllers. This limitation, I must say, is completely unacceptable and frankly, bad business in a field that allows a limitless number of variations.That being said, this is a cool game. It looks and sounds better then any baseball game ever. After the Triple Play series simply disgusted me, and every other baseball game out there was poor at best, I had given up on baseball video games. After the good reviews MVP 2003 got, I decided to give this a chance, and I am very surprised. This one, although not perfect, no game ever will be, does a lot of things right, that other baseball games can't do. Its a lot of fun. I have heard the PS2 version is full of bugs and the graphics are poor, but the PC version looks great and so far I have not seen any real bugs. Its a good purchase.

the controller issue can be fixed if you change the name of your controller in the registry. start menu, run, type "regedit", go to find, enter your controller name exactly (name of your current controller as defined by the controllers menu on control panel). double click on the highlighted line and replace the title to the accepted controller. keep hitting "find next" until you have replaced all of the titles of your controller with one of the 5 available in the game. i use a sidewinder, but with the profile name Logitech Dual Action Gamepad. good luck, this game is awesome, it shouldn't be limited by controller issues.
