Customer Review: It reminds me of The Lost Crown

It isn't as polished as Lost Crown, but both characters are embarked on a quest that seems (even to the player) ill-advised. Samuel Gordon is looking for a set of "Keys" that were separated to keep their power from being used by one man. He wants them all, and doesn't seem concerned about the result. This is, itself, a clue to what is going on.
The setting is good, the voice acting is good, and it takes a good while to get through it. The ending, as others have noted, is sudden and a bit of a jolt. It sort of explains the beginning, though.
The play only gets repetitive if you can't figure out what you should be doing next. That's pretty much true of any adventure game. If you are looking for a well presented game of some length, this is a good one. There are day/night cycles, weather effects (lots of rain), and very nice scenery.
I didn't have the UK version, and StarForce is an absolute nightmare. I emailed The Adventure Company for technical support, and all they wanted from me (after waiting for a week) was an info dump from DxDiag. This is all the more interesting, because the file StarForce was hanging on was msinfo32.exe. Every entry into the game took at least 5 minutes to "examine the CD". Sometimes, it would take three tries. I finally discovered it was faster to kick the CD out and reinsert it in the drive, then click Yes when it asks if you would like to start the game. I sent a nastygram to The Adventure Company tech support, the contents of which are best left unexpressed here. I never got a reply. After the game was uninstalled, StarForce remained on the system. I found a cleaner online that removed every trace of it, fortunately.
I am sure this game would have sold more copies and had much better reviews, if it hadn't had a copy protection program on it. It is much better than most games of a similar type out there.
