These graphics blow me away, but the 30FPS cap is disapointing. Not only that, but i have a PS2, XBox and XBox 360 controller, and each has it's own adapter. This game doesn't regonize pressure sensitivity like console racing games such as Gran Turismo does. I would like to play it, but without decent controls..... Don't buy this game if you have Vista 64 bit and a MoMo Force Feedback wheel. I wish someone would have posted that you have no control over the gas pedal when you try to play this game. Yes, it looks to be very fun if only it would work correctly. I went to Logitech's site and did download the latest driver version for my Feedback wheel, it still didn't help.
There seems to be some fixes out there which include rewiring your gas and brake pedals or fiddling with your (registry) all of which you should not have to do. So if you are just an end user computer person like I am and have Vista 64 and a momo force feedback wheel, do not buy this game.
Customer Review: An Extreme rush of all out Racing!!

I am all about racing, airplane games and most recently first person shooters like COD, but my number one game type is racing. GRID hits the mark for me in just about every category and then some. It's neither a full blown Sim nor a full blown arcade race game. It falls somewhere in between and will lean slightly to the Sim side but not all the way. I thought Test Drive Unlimited was the end all to race games for the moment once I got it. It was a total eye candy game along with free roam, selection of cars and the way they drive I thought this is the top of the heap until I bought GRID and it blew that theory right out of the water.
If you are a total Sim gamer you will probably dislike this game unless you also enjoy arcade type racing games. If your PC is moderate or not up to snuff you are going to miss out on some of the eye candy and playability of the game. When running it with low to medium settings not having tire marks, crowds and shadows makes the game seem like something's just not right. So keep that in mind.
Graphically speaking it is one of the best looking race games I have seen yet. When watching the replays it is as if you are actually watching it on television no exaggeration there! Not to mention the game play looks the same no skimping between replay quality and actual in game visuals. But this game is not just about looking good it plays as well as it looks to me anyway.
I saw a lot of complaints on the web from gamers ragging about the way the cars handled, drove and the instabilities. I too encountered the same after initially getting the game. It was solved by several things: upgrading my engineering FX graphics cards to a full blown GTX 280 SLI super-super clocked card and tweaking the dead zones and driving adjustments in the control section. Believe it or not the cars actually drive differently once you have the ability to run the game with high-or ultra high settings and higher resolution. Also playing around with driver aids/assists turning on or off make a difference depending on the type of race you are in. You will need a graphics card that runs close to or above 600MHz core clock and the ability to run anti-aliasing as this game will have jaggies if you don't. Although some of you out there may be able to use a lesser card and it will run with high settings depending on your CPU & GPU combo and operating system etc. After getting it I went back and got DIRT, and it would not run correctly on my setup no matter what resolution setup I tried and graphically is not up to par with GRID anyway. So I got rid of DIRT, bye, bye!
You need to have a little patience when approaching this game although it is not a full blown Sim and cars are "as is" no upgrades or adjustments available other than steering, throttle, and brake adjustments for your steering wheel setup. It may take several adjustment combinations through trail & error to find the sweet spot but it is there.
Once that's all accomplished you will really be enjoying this game. I also own GTR2 and as much as I like it the problem I see with sim games is the lack of feel for speed. It can be over exaggerated in arcade type games but if its done just right-like in GRID you feel like you really are hitting 230mph in a race. That for me is the clincher. I don't mind the over the top exaggeration when it is done correctly because it will accomplish what its meant to do-make you feel like you are racing for real!
Your are going to need at the least a descent steering wheel to fully extract your potential from this game. I would not even dare try it with keyboard & mouse only although you may do well with a gamepad. This game is blazing fast in races, it is the fastest race game I have played with maybe Burnout Dominator as the exception. The damage modeling is the best I have ever seen it tops Toca 3 in my opinion. A few days ago as I thought about writing this review I was going to complain about the lack of Formula 1 or Formula 3000 type racing and what a shame it was not included even though open wheel racing was but with downsized slower Formula looking type cars. I have to change my thoughts now as a have continued to play the game lo and behold I unlocked Formula 3000 racing in the game WOW! So it is there.
So to cut this short before writing a book if you like racing and have been disappointed by games in the past both graphically, driving physics and playability get GRID and never look back. To me this game sets the benchmark for any new race game to follow and if the newer ones do not live up to this one I will steer away from them because once you play GRID anything else that will not raise the bar is just going to pale in comparison.
The downsides of the game: no way to save your replays. No upgrades to cars. No photo mode. Same engine sounds for like cars.
Think TOCA 3 punched up or on steroids and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 pumped up and you have a good idea what this game is all about.
So go get a good racing wheel preferably with throttle and brake pedals, get the game some Jolt cola or Monster and blast off and tear it up!
A final note: the fact that 8 new cars will be announced and available soon for the PC version in the "8-Ball" pack is a real plus!! Race On!

This is a great buy. A fan of both arcade (Need for Speed series) and sim (Formula 1 2002) racing, this game has been and still is very fun for me.
I'm not sure I would call it a simulation - even with all of the assists off - but it's realistic enough to make it challenging. Yet it's fairly forgiving in terms of racing a damaged car, going off the pavement for a second, coming back in a race after spinning out, etc. The combination of these two properties goes a long way in keeping the game very fun. The flashback feature is a novel idea, one that should've been introduced to racing games a long time ago, and although it feels a little bit like cheating, it saves you the frustration of restarting races over and over.
One great thing about this game is the variety of racing - classic muscle, tuner cars, drifting, Le Mans, Formula 3 and more, there's something for whatever flavor of fast you want. Formula 3 is very fun, and though it's a far cry from the realism of EA's F1 2002, it's pretty nice not spinning out every time you don't take a corner _just_ right. This is the first game that I've played with drifting, but I think it's excellent. It's more challenging and the learning curve is a bit steeper, but this helps keep the game fun after completing 100% single player. There's something really satisfying about completing a perfect 3-lap run with a single 46X combo. And the pro muscle, pro tuned, touring and Le Mans races are just excellent good 'ol racing.
The difficulty levels range from walk in the park to REALLY difficult. The AI is quite good, there's only 1 track configuration out of the many where they don't seem to be able to get around in a timely manner. The only thing that they can't really compete in is drifting. Even in the special unlock-when-you-beat-the-game 'ninja' difficulty setting, I can beat them in points in drift GP in last place taking my time. Once you get the hang of drifting (which is very fun), you can exponentially increase your score by never losing your combo. They make mistakes - this was done on purpose - and it leads to a more realistic experience. There are memorable moments watching AI drivers slam into each other and/or go flying, zooming past as parts fly everywhere, or sometimes getting caught in a pile-up. But there are always the AI who drive well and give you a challenge.
Online racing is quite fun too. It doesn't seem to matter as much how sharp you can take the corners, but how consistently you race, which makes it more interesting because anything can happen most of the time. There's always annoying things that crop up when playing with other people, and in this game it takes the form of people running into each other in the first two seconds of the race, and people driving backwards (measures have been taken to prevent collisions this way). What could be improved is the online game menus - when first setting up the game, it's difficult to determine what kind of race you're choosing because you only get the name of the race, like "Jun Super Street". After a race series is completed, everyone votes for the next race, no way to prevent the game you hosted from changing. The way the voting works is pretty nice though - when voting, it shows you the track layout and vehicle type of the race. Why you don't get this when setting up the game is a mystery.
All in all, it's a great game that more than makes up for its few flaws, and certainly worth the money for any kind of fan of racing games.

I love this game, Im into Shooter Games, like Crysis, CoD4: MW, etc.. But I try to change a lil'bit and bought this game, I like the gameplay, the desings, everything. If you're looking for a racing cars game, don't look forward, buy this! Recomendado 100% :)
