Video Game Reviews of Codename: Panzers Phase OneCustomer Review: Excellent WW2 themed title Summary: 4 StarsCodename Panzers is brought to you by the same people that made the rock solid Blitzkrieg. Funny thing is I thought they may have made the game stale by staying in the same genre, I couldnt have been more wrong. Panzers is just balls out fun and one of the better RTS games Ive had the pleasure to own in the last year. Tactics rule the battlefield as it should be, you will feel the tension of urban environments as ambushes can and will pop up at anytime. Attempt to rush at your own peril especially if the enemy holds a key chokepoint. AI is excellent and the graphics are awesome combined with engrossing gameplay Panzers is well worth the purchase.
Customer Review: Not your ordinary RTS game Summary: 4 StarsBeing a big fan of the C&C series and WWII games I had to try this game. First thing I noticed was just how great the graphics looked and how good it sounded. Gameplay is not the king where you can just jump in and dominate. It took me a while to get used to having instead of a constant resource coming in to build your army but you are set with a certain amount so strategy alreadys is a big thing needed to win the game over your opponent. This game is a must get if you enjoy commanding an WWII army with big strategy needed and the freedom to dominate your opponent in anyway. The best about this game in my opinion is coop mode.
Customer Review: Very Fun Summary: 5 StarsCodename: Panzers Phase One is the best RTS game I have played, it's superb graphics and fun gameplay makes this an instant classic. The innovation of the RPG elements puts Panzers in a category all by it's self. Stormregion did a wonderful job and I can't wait until the next installment of this series. I recommend this game to all RTS fans and anyone who may be interested in the genre.
Customer Review: Excellent Game, Worthy of my Computer (which is saying alot) Summary: 4 StarsThis game can hold its own against many RTS games out there now. It has a much stronger online community too when compared to quite a few big name titles(past/present)out there which dumped hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars into advertising.
Codename: Panzers reminded me of the Close Combat series, but in a 3d version that was not too cumbersome (as a few have tried to recreate the same feel for CC series in 3d format but with little success). It definately captures the fun the CC series had but with a much more graphic pleasing version. The Multiplay is absolutely thrilling.
From a guy who has been playing these types of games for years, its worth it.
Customer Review: Surprisingly fun strategy game! Summary: 5 StarsWhile it might not be as complex or in-depth as other strategy games, it's also a lot more fun. The action moves fast, and you get to spend your time completing missions, rather than having to keep track of resources and troop building. I also like that the AI isn't too difficult, it's not easy, but it's also not painfully difficult to progress through the missions.
You can play as Germans, Russians or the US/Britain, which lets you test out all their vehicles and troops to see what you like best. The graphics for all the units are tight, with lots of detail. And there's a nice variety of units, and it's not just the same unit with different skins to make you think it's something else, but then it has the same attack and defense levels as the enemy's tanks.
The only thing I wish it had were some more online options, but that's a minor nitpick, since the single player is really good.
