WotLK is a great expansion to WoW, until the N00bs, huntards, and other likewise terribad players complained until it became EZ-mode. I've been playing WoW for close to two years. This is a very good addition to the game. A whole new continent to explore, lots of new factions to gain reputation with, and a lot more raiding content for those who enjoy it.
That said, remember this is an EXPANSION. To play it requires you already have the "World of Warcraft" game and "World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade" expansion. Likewise, anyone new to WoW should be aware there is a monthly subscription fee to play the game.
There's not much to do with the new content until you reach level 55 (to make a Death Knight - the new character class introduced in this expansion) or about level 67+ in order to actually start exploring the new continent, Northrend.
If you have been playing WoW for long enough to have characters at a high level, then I recommend this expansion. There are new things to do and the artwork is beautiful.

Actually leveled my main up to 79 and a half before realizing i wasnt having fun just sitting like a zombie going through the motions. Will say they at least included a storyline in this xpac but too little too late. Game has went down hill since it inception. BC was bad WOTLK is worse. Save some money and play some free trials (LOTRO, Warhammer and all SOE games offer them) and pick something worth your time. Customer Review: pretty fun!

i enjoy playing world of warcraft- occasionally. i'm not an avid gamer. WoW is definitely a beginner friendly game. it's easy to use easy to figure out and there's so many resources for it online, that it's really easy to get swept up in all the hooplah. i liked the wrath of the lich king expansion pack. i like the whole game. it just gets so boring after a while, but what doesn't?Customer Review: Was fun for awhile

As a long time WOW player (from way back in vanilla wow) I eagerly anticipated the release of this expansion as I am sure everyone else did. Once it came out I leveled my mage up as fast as I could, questing and knocking out the new instances which I thought were very well done. The graphics were great, the new quests were well done, I pretty much enjoyed everything with the game.
Then level 80 came and worked on farming the epix, first through the standard fare of farming rep and heroics, then on to the 10/25 naxx for the tier stuff. Once the last patch came out however, I found that I was having a more and more difficult time staying interested in the game. The same old prospects of hours of monotonous farming for tier pieces, as from lvl 60, then lvl 70 and now lvl 80 was dragging the game down. Epix farming, a few new bosses as the guild managed to progress a bit, then more and more and more of the same old stuff. Eventually I just stopped playing and recently canceled my account after years of playing the game. I think the game does a pretty good job with the new expansions, however the mechanics have just become very, very old.
