Video Game Reviews of Total Annihilation

Customer Review: May have been an ok game for then, but doesnt compare now
Summary: 2 Stars

Total Annihilation is not that great. Sure there are millions of men your army can consist of, but many are very weak and useless. There is really no depth to the game, its just one of those games where whoever can build the best man first wins no contest. Compared to games of today like Starcraft and Homeworld this game stands no chance. I think I was being very generous giving it 2 stars. I wouldnt waste my money.

Customer Review: My favorite game of all time!
Summary: 5 Stars

A friend of my bought a game at a store and returned it because his computer couldn't handle the requirements. So he returned it but couldn't get money back, so he got this game. After having for a month, he finally started to play it and that was it. In the end, another friend and myself started getting together three times a week playing this game for over 2 years straight against each other. I have probably played over 10,000 battles. And you can download free units and maps over the internet. Very cool. The game is very fast paced with many buildings, units, and other weapons. I still play this game to this day as do my friends. I recommend this game to everyone and I hope that they make the sequel.

Customer Review: Total Annihilation ... still the best
Summary: 5 Stars

Almost three years after its original release, TA is *still* the best RTS game ever made. So many of its most fundamental ideas, like infinite build-queues, infinite order queues, and simple but effective patrol waypoints, have still not been incorporated into newer games. Like chess, Total Annihilation takes minutes to learn and years to master. TA features realistic physics, strategic depth beyond the simple quick-click contests, and well-balanced robot, vehicle, air, sea, and hover units.

What's less well-known is that TA also has a third-party community that's *still* alive and well and producing new units, maps, mods, TCs, and thousands of posts of discussion every week. TA is to RTS games what Doom is to FPS ... a true classic.

Customer Review: The best game
Summary: 5 Stars

Total Annihilation is the best game I have ever played. My friend let me use it over the summer break and I thought it was awesome. I would give the graphics a 10 in rating the terrain a 10 also. The sound makes you feel like you're in the middle of battle and you never run out of places to play. So far the only game that's close to it is Mechwarior2. Battle Master ,Alex

P.S. I would definately give it a 5 star rating.

Customer Review: Great Game
Summary: 5 Stars

I first purchased this game about 2 years ago and I still play it occasionally. The game has great graphics and has way more units than any other RTS game I've ever played. This game is better than command & conquer, Red Alert, and Starcraft. The naval and air units in C&C and Red Alert pale in comparison to the ones in TA.

I first played this on a Pentium/150 running Win95 and it played fine. Since then I have moved on to a PII/350 with Win98 and it still plays fine.
