Video Game Reviews of The Matrix: Path of NeoCustomer Review: A Review of Reviews Summary: 3 StarsI've read alot of reviews for this game before i bought it and now would like to state my opinions of those reviews about this game.
first off my number one complaint for the game which i didnt see in any of my reviews i read was...the cut scenes. oh how they got in the way of the game. just let me play the level plz, and keep your short videos to yourself. this really sucked when facing the smiths or just 1 vs 1 smith. you would go to pull off a really cool combo and then "bam" a cut scene, and you dont get to see your move finish, or the fact that your move didnt really matter, because the cut scene was coming whether or not you were damaging him or not. thats the biggest problem with this game. now on to what "they"say.
"the graphics suck"- the characters were fine but the walls were a little fuzzy. but hey, if you didnt like it, just throw the enemy into them and they brake. kinda cool
"it crashes"- worked fine for me, no probs. but i feel i am smart enough to wait for the price to come down and all the bugs to work out before buying a game (or a car for that matter)-sidenote- ford focus (car) had over 100 recalls when they first came out.
"controls are too hard for PC"-again no problems here, i can pull off the number 1 combo with no problems. i use the keyboard and change the controls to the arrow keys instead of the "wsad" and then change the surrounding keys. find wat works for you and use it.
"the story line doesnt match the movie"-well i already stated my dislike for the cutscenes, but who cares, imma here to play a game not watch a movie. if they change something, oh well, let me beat up some agents.
"its hard to aim and shoot"-there is nothing hard about shooting, especially in bullet time. in fact its too simple for me. it's not fun shootin the bad guys when you kung fu them all to shreads.
"the views get distorted when neo fights at some places"- yes this one is true, there are times when you are fighting and you cannot see the enemy's let alone neo. it all gets to close....BUT....there is a fix, which no-one must no, because they all complain about it. when it happens just use your wheel on your mouse to scroll back the view. the wheel acts as a zoom in zoom out control, like most games. so u dont need to keep it in default zoom when those situations occur.
and last but not least
"the ending sucks"-yes it does, but it is so simple any one can beat it, it comes from the old NES days where all you do is dodge, dodge, dodge, then you get to attack one time. yippee.
if you want a game like no other hand-to-hand combat game then get this game. its great for kickin some major butt. the downfall is you only get to kick but when the game tells you too (cut scenes, oh how i loathe them) there is no free mode like in Aliens vs Predator, where you can be the predator and just keep killing aliens till you get tired of it. which would have been very nice with all the agent smiths. but there are a huge amount of levels to play on.
again one last time, the main reason for this game is hand-to-hand combat. if you want something else your not going to find it here.
Description of The Matrix: Path of NeoThe Matrix: Path Of Neo continues the story of The Matrix. You become Neo and try to follow the path of The One - your choices will decide the fate of humanity. They may win where Neo failed or find another way to solve the problem - the path is now theirs to follow. The Matrix: Path of Neo will follow the story of the blockbuster motion picture trilogy The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions and for the first time allow gamers to play as Neo and become "the One." From the moment the game begins, how the situations play out, how they handle them, how they deal with the events, where they go, how people react to them -- it's all up to the gamer. They may win where Neo failed or find another way to solve the problem -- the path is now theirs to follow. As Neo, the choices the player makes to resolve each scenario and the resulting consequences may have a different result than the original films. Alternative scenarios filled with new characters, content and storylines have all been written and planned by the Wachowski Brothers to expand the Matrix universe and overall gaming experience. Once again blurring the lines between Hollywood and interactive entertainment, The Matrix: Path of Neo features the likenesses of all of the films' key actors -- including Keanu Reeves (Neo), Laurence Fishburne (Morpheus), Carrie-Ann Moss (Trinity), Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith) and Jada Pinkett-Smith (Niobe).
