I purchased this item, and it was fun at first. I didn't like how in some of the senarios, you couldn't charge for the rides, how you make money that way, I don't know. A good advance is that there is a senario editor, but the problem is, you can't edit senarios, you can only create senarios, so if you make a mistake, your doomed. This game is much like the first one, if you really want a fun Roller Coaster Tycoon, go and buy the 3rd one if your computer allows.Customer Review: RCT 2 ALOT better than 3 & soaked

Save your $$ and buy this RCT2 instead of 3, you will be much happier. Alot more fun, easier to play, peeps dont puke as much.

This is just as good as the 1st Roller Coaster Tycoon, It is pretty much the same, but with just added features, like new scenerios, rides, scenery & etc... The newest feature that I like the best is how easier it is to bulldoze scenery & things, you can now do a larger area, instead of just right clicking on every object. So if you liked the 1st game you will love this one.Customer Review: Nice new sequel!

Positives:
This game has more to offer than RCT1. In RCT2, your guests do more [Like admire your scenery and they even take pictures of your park!] instead of just complaining like "I can't find the park exit" and stuff.They even look at your rides before they go on and just stand there and stare. Also, there are tons of more rides to choose from that are used in the theme parks today like Six Flag's the Superman: The Great Escape and X. This game also includes 2 of the RCT2 expansion packs [Wacky Worlds and Time Twister] . In this pack, you get way more for your money. If you would of bought all these games seperately, it would probably be more than 40 or 50 dollars! This game has all of the expansion packs [And just the real game] all in one disk so you won't lose the rest of the CD's.
Kind of Negitives:
The challenges are way more harder than RCT1 like in on of them, you have to build a theme park and you have to have more than 1,000 people in it with a park rating of at least 600 by the end of year 2! That's really really hard! And also, when you build lines to get into the rides, a lot of times, they are already done for you, but you have to build another path that will go to where the guests can get on. Very frustrating.
Overall, this is a really fun game but it has some minor inconviences along with it. This is way better than the first RCT, but I'd say make sure you know all the features and you know what to do because some features that are used in RCT1, are almost hidden and hard to find in this sequel. Also, look out for RCT:Soaked that is coming out soon. That looks really fun too!

Chris Sawyer, teaming up with Atari once more, has created the perfect sequel. Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 pulls out all the stops to create a perfect and unique gaming experience. This expansion pack not only gives you the sequel, but "Wacky Worlds" and "Time Twister". Build a steel coaster on a martian landscape, or listen to a wooden rollercoaster speeding past as you watch Robin Hood practice arrow-shooting in Sherwood Forest.
Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 brings you better zoom capabilities, more powerful landscaping potential (take out a swath of trees or plant a swath of them...not just one-at-a-time!). Six Flags has thrown its brains into the mix, allowing you to manipulate and build five 'Six Flags' theme parks, such as Six Flags Magic Mountain and Six Flags Over Texas.
Rollercoaster Tycoon had limited players to only 14 coaster varieties. This awesome sequel gives you the opportunity to build 25 Six Flags coasters, in addition to many other varieties. The possibilties are endless. Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 also separates the scenarios into 2 skill-levels, allowing you to build confidence and experience.
Summary: This sequel expansion pack gives you endless opportunities to build the theme park of your dreams, thrilling and scaring your guests in dozens of locations and situations. CAUTION...very addicting!
