This is a great game especially if you get bored easily (like me). I did have to give it four stars though, but only because after you've played it for 3 months in a row, it gets kinda boring. The only complaints that I've seen in these reviews have been about how it's annoying that the people get stuck. WELL, this is definately NOT a legitamite complaint because it's PART OF THE GAME! It's your job to create an easy-to-navigate system of walkways so that your guests can get through the park and to what they want to get to without a hassle. (by the way i'm 15 in case you were wondering) I have the gold edition and the expansion packs are great. THIS IS A GREAT GIFT well that's it, happy gaming everyone

Get the Roller Caster Tycoon 2 because even this might sound good but I have got all three games include in this and they not by far as good campared to Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 combined. Don't spend your money on this were you can get the fully updated version for more options to work with!...
It's your chose either the cheap past version or the moderate updated version!?

Make sure you have a lot of time to kill because this game just sucks you in right from the beginning. This is a great game!! There are so many different options available to you from being able to create your own rides, share them with other RC Tycoon users or download rides that other people have made. Rollercoaster Tycoon...the legacy? Absolutley, gamers for generations to come will look forward to the new releases of this game! Okay maybe I am over-exaggerating, but I can tell you that I love this game, I am 24 years old and I love this game. It is incredibly addictive. I can also tell you this, if you are wondering what version to buy, get the gold edition first. It gives you the original Rollercoaster tycoon (RCT for short) plus the two RCT expansion packs (loopy landscapes and corkscrew follies). I will also warn you to start easy. It's much easier to start small and build your parks along with your knowledge. If you go straight to RCT II there are some very challenging games that is hard to appreciate or understand without first conquering a few games the conventional way.
To quote Aerosmith's Amazing "You have to learn to crawl...before you learn to walk" so just like with every other game and life in general, take things one step at a time. But be sure to buy this game...it's a blast!The game earns five stars and higher if I could. Buy this version because for ten bucks more you can almost quadruple your fun!
Customer Review: To the disgruntled who claim it doesn't work on Windows XP.

As an owner of a computer with Windows XP, I assure you that Rollercoaster Tycoon will work. Windows XP has a compatibility wizard that you can use to make older programs work. It's kinda funny though, I didn't use the compatibility wizard and Rollercoaster Tycoon is working just fine on my computer (I have Windows XP). Those complaining probably didn't load the game right on their computer.
