The slot machines in this program are a grave disappointment over the original version (Monopoly Casino), for the first has sixteen normal slot machines and then three official WME Monopoly slot machines, including "Once Around," "Chairman of the Board," and "Reel Estate." The new program does not have any WME slot machines, only nine typical slot machines and three video slots, none of which are professional enough to be authentically used in Vegas.
The "Vegas Edition" did fix the poker room to reflect the current trend in double blinds instead of ante. It also added a BINGO game, to which my wife is addicted.
Overall, the game is playable and nice, but it might have been more appropriate to name this "Indian Casino" instead of "Vegas Edition."(...)
I'll wait till Advance to Boardwalk comes out....
Goto vegas and play this slot if you don't know what it is!! Youll be hooked
Pai-Gow poker: Same as on most casino simulations. Good play, fast dealing, easy to understand bet amounts and current totals.
Sic-bo: Excellent! Nice game, fast paced, well done board and action. Has a re-bet button so you don't have to place your bet over and over if you don't want to. The only gripe about this game is that you can't easily tell how much you won per payout. It just adds it to your score. I would have liked something that said "You win XX credits!"
Keno: If you like Keno, you'll love this. It's just like the paper version of Keno. You mark your spots, tell it how many games to play and how much to bet, and let it do it's thing. You cannot do any fancy betting here, though. Just straight Keno- pick between 1 and 10 numbers, period. (some Keno games allow you different picking options)
Progressive Video Poker: An interesting twist. Just like regular Vid Poker except a natural Royal Flush pays out a progressive jackpot. There are 4 Progressive Vid Poker games, all very similar in design with different wild cards, etc. I enjoyed playing this- the cards are dealt at a good pace (a little slow, but I prefer it that way.)
Poker: lot of Poker. I haven't played them all, but there is Texas Hold 'em, Omaha Hold 'em, Omaha Hold 'em Hi-Lo, 7 Card Stud, 7 Card Stud Hi-Lo, and 7 Card Stud low. I tried out 7 card stud just to see how it ran. Slow dealing, and you can't lower the number of opponents like on other games. Fast betting, though. It was hard to tell who won at the end of the game. I would rate it as so-so. Nothing to write home about.
I was very pleased with the slots in this game. The original Monopoly had a few "real" slots, then the rest were all exactly the same, except the pictures were different. Nothing but single payline games with different symbols. I was VERY disappointed in that. This version is a HUGE improvement, with much nicer slot games.
Progressive Slots: These are nice slot games. Go To Pieces is a multi-line game (3) that's pretty straight-forward. Good enough game. Lap of Luxury is nicer- 3 payline also, but nicer design and more interesting play. I enjoyed this one quite a bit. Last is Family Tree, which I am addicted to! It's a 5 line game with lots of payouts and a fun design. Fun game.
Money Wheel: Typical money wheel game- nice design. VERY slow spinning, though. I find myself thinking come ON! It probably is about the same spin rate as at the casino, but it seems slow for a game to me. It's a nice game, though if you just feel like relaxing and playing a bit. Not very exciting, but the money wheel isn't usually a big thrill. One interesting note: Normally the "big" spaces on the wheel pay 40:1. In this game, it pays 45:1, which is nice.
Bingo. LOVE IT! I'm a big bingo fan anyway, but this is a great game. You can play from 1-8 cards. You can control the speed of the caller, and it moves right along. Different patterns are offered, so it's not always the same old game. You are playing against others, so sometimes you hear a chorus of people yell "Bingo!" all at the same time, which is funny. There is tournament play available, too. (I haven't tried that yet) Excellent bingo game- they really did their homework on this one.
Regular Slot Machines: These are OK- kind of the same old stuff. Hit The Road, Short Line Trolley, Monopoly Acres, Propery Tycoon, and Jailbird are all plain old single payline, 3 reel slots. Nice design, but not very exciting play. The last regular slot is "Cover Art", which is fun. It has a "break the bank" feature to it. You accumulate credits each time you spin a "pig" symbol, and they are given to you if you spin 4 pigs or your bank accumulates up to 250. I like that feature and this is my favorite regular slot.
Video Poker: There are 6 different varieties of video poker. Nice design, fast play. All different combos of wild cards, etc. Great if you like video poker.
Video Slots: I enjoy these a lot. There are three different video slots. This is not regular slots with a bonus game, it's actually a game/slots combo. They are all very entertaining. One has a "Who dunnit" theme, one is a race car game, and one is a battleship theme. They have a lot of replayablilty. Nice addition, in my opinion.
Blackjack: Very similar to the original Monopoly Casino blackjack. Nice play, fast dealing, good dealer chatter.
Craps: Decent enough craps game- Nothing out of the ordinary, pretty standard game. Nice design, fast play.
Roulette: Monopoly theme to this game- no red and black, it's red and green (for hotels and houses). Has a "re-bet" feature, which is vital to roulette, in my book. Nice game, good design.
All in all, this is a lot of game .... There is a lot to do in it, and they really did a lot with the slots this time around. The bingo is excellent and the Sic-bo is a great addition. If you are a casino fan, you'll enjoy this game. The only bad things are that the background music is annoying after a while (you can turn it off) and it's not always easy to see how much money you are winning. Otherwise, it's a well done game and has lots of replayability.
