Customer Review: A Great Game to Get a Kid Interested in History
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought the game for my son because he was interested in the shooting and war aspects of the game. Soon, however, it became apparent that there was a lot more to Call of Duty. He played as an actual soldier in the American army, the British RAF, and in the Russian Army. He learned about various battles in WWII, as well as how to identify ships, planes, and tanks from the era. He also learned that war wasn't always glamourous and cool. The best thing that happened during the time he played this game was that he became motivated to go and look up the history behind the battles he simulated.

I'm sure not all kids will have this sort of motivation after playing this game, but the fact that he did impresses me. This is not just another shoot-the-enemy-for-points game. This is a game that allows people to get a taste of what the "greatest generation" experienced on the battle fields of Europe.

Customer Review: Cheap fun multiplayer war action
Summary: 5 Stars

I've actually only played single-player for about five minutes just to learn the moves on this game and the rest of the time have gone online for the multiplayer, which is great fun.

Like Vampire Bloodlines, I recently bought this at the reissued price of $20 AUD and it has already earned it's price in hours of entertainment.

Great that the servers still have quite a lot of players online, despite this game having been out a while, and the action is certainly addictive and quite intense.

It's as realistic as it needs to be and has a good atmosphere. Definitely one for Saving Private Ryan fans.

Customer Review: AI is horrible, not realistic, but a fun game.
Summary: 3 Stars

Personaly I feel Medal of Honor was better constructed. Medal of Honor has way better squad AI and the game flows better. It's also a bit more exciting. Nothing beats the Omaha beach mission.

Now for Call of Duty. DONT LISTEN TO ANYONE WHO SAYS THE AI IS GOOD. The squad AI is the worst I've ever seen. My advice to anyone who wishes to stay alive is to lead your squad-mates to their deaths before they kill you. And never listen to anything they tell you to do. Examples of how bad the AI is.
-Your squad-mates will ignore enemies who are right in front of them.
-They'll yell grenade when an enemy throws one but instead of running away they'll duck down right next to it and blow up.
-They'll shoot endlessly at an enemy but will never hit them.
-They never EVER cover you when you need them to. For instance when your on an AA cannon, your leader will be yelling at you to fire down planes, but your squad mates wont cover you from ground troops and you end up getting shot to death... repeatedly.
-They'll yell, "Get down", or "look out" for no reason at all.

The list goes on and on, it's really very bad. Again, TERRIBLE AI.

On the plus side, the graphics are great, the sounds are good, and the missions are fun. You play the roles of a Russian, Brit, and American which makes it a little more interesting... although doesn't really flow. One minute your a Russian, next minute your an American, and so on. There's nothing to really tie the missions together.

All in all I would say it's well worth the money, but Medal of Honor was far more exciting and original.

Customer Review: BEST FPS EVER! Forget medal of honor!
Summary: 5 Stars

This game is amazing. It has good graphics and great gameplay. I like it a lot better than medal of honor because it is just more realistic. in moh you blast through a whole panzer division on your own, in COD it is more realistic because you have squad members with you and the objectives are more realistic.(though you still kill an insane amount of enemies for one guy). Its great because its challenging enought to be fun but not so much that youre stuck playing the same level over and over forever.(like in MOH) The multiplayer is also very good, though you need to beat the campain a few times because some of the online players are freaks they are so good.also when youre playing multiplayer you need to stick to it for a while and find your little niche(charging with a submaching gun, sniping with a sniper or blasting away with an M1)

Customer Review: Much better than Medal of Honor
Summary: 5 Stars

When people got Medal of Honor Allied Assualt, they really got into the game and realized how good it was. Call of Duty is much better. You play as the Americans, British, and Russians. I have had this game for over a year, and I am still playing it. When I got it, I beat it on the second day, and started on the next dificulty level. I worked my way up to the hardest one, and it is an enirely diferent experience. It's replay value is incredible. On the hardest dificulty level, you die after only two or three shots, so you get more into the game than ever before. This is the best first person shooter that I have ever played.
