Video Game Reviews of Call of Duty 2Customer Review: NO GAME CONTROLLOER SUPPORTED FOR XP VERSION Summary: 3 StarsAt least on mine I was surprised this game on the XP has no support for game controller and i have the generic one the MS 360 one which is pretty mainstream. Fiddling with the keyboard to play a war game is... TOTALLY UNACCETPABLE.
I wasted my [...]. I should return it 'cause its no game without a game controller.
Disappointed at this and it looks such a good game.
Customer Review: Great game if you can't run a newer Call of Duty. Summary: 4 StarsThe game is very fun, the campaign is decently challenging (on "hardened" difficulty), and has a decent replayability to it. The multiplayer is fantastic (though you do have to install a couple of patches from the game makers to get it to work.) I would highly recomend this game to anyone with a semi-old computer who can't play any of the other newer call of duty games (as was the case with my computer).
Customer Review: Doesn't install in Windows 7 Summary: 1 StarsI have a new PC with Windows 7 64 bit on it. When I try to install this game, I get an error immediately and the install exited.
I played this on my old Vista computer and it worked fine and was a fun game.
Customer Review: A classic that never gets boring..... Summary: 4 StarsAs a big fan of the Call of Duty franchise, COD 2 is probably my 2nd favorite, just under COD4 -- each has it's own very unique feel and immersion for the player. I actually own the MAC and PC version of this game. And I play them on a 24" iMac 2.8ghz Intel Core Duo processor running 4mb ram, and ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro graphics card with 256 VRAM. These games play fine with all graphics settings either normal or high, on both Leopard OSX and XP PRO SP3 when I boot into windows using Apple's boot camp. And to think, when I called Ubisoft, they said there was no way this older release game would even run -- they claimed the graphics cards were too intelligent for the game. Ha! No problem here. The advantage with the PC version of the game is that you won't experience some of the hickups that you'll find on the Mac side. These games are originally coded for PC or console and then "ported" for the Mac user -- well, during this porting process, it seems that quality control or just good old code/hardware conflicts do exist.
Overall I give this Game 4 starts....and I'm looking forward to COD 6 "Modern Warfare 2" which I have already pre-ordered.
