Video Game Reviews of Elder Scrolls IV: OblivionCustomer Review: Still one of the best games out there! Summary: 5 StarsI originally purchased this game when it first came out, but at some point lost the CD after a few hundred hours of gameplay. So I've recently purchased it again and still love it. The graphics are great, but my favorite part is the role-playing you get to do in the immense world. You can talk to just about everyone you meet to learn about quests, hidden locations, and items. The game allows for one to complete just about every quest despite whether they specialize in combat, stealth, or magic. The mini-tools for lock-picking and befriending individuals are very well thought out and make skills fun to use. The depth of this game reminds me of the old Arcanum PC game, but this one has much better graphics and multiple point of views to play from. This still has to be one of the best games still on the market!
Customer Review: I swear, this game never ends. Summary: 5 StarsThe vastness of this game is almost as big as my hometown. I've clocked in over 150 hrs of playtime and I am still trying to find more stuff to do and add into my inventory. The best part of this original version of the game; is that it does not install the irremovable software secuROM onto your PC because Bethesda did not include it yet onto their disks. But if you don't care for it then I suggest you get the GOTY edition and get the full experience.
Customer Review: WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!!!!! Summary: 5 StarsI am seeing constant complaints about how Oblivion is too easy. There are also a pretty good number of people who are annoyed by how the items are leveled. The leveled creatures and items are part of the game but there is a way too get around it.
I'm going too ask now... who read the actual game manual? If you didn't just rush into the game and you actually took the time too look at the part marked OPTIONS you can clearly see that the game allowed you too CHANGE THE DIFFICULTY!!! The higher the game difficulty is the faster you'll upgrade, the items you get are better, and the harder the ENEMIES ARE!!!!!
For you people who hate fast travel I have exciting news for you... YOU DON'T HAVE TOO FAST TRAVEL!!!!! It is very true that you can walk where you want, when you want, if you want too.
For you Morrowind fans who think it is fun too walk across Vardenfal for hours relying on crappy directions given by a skooma addict ashlander, most people I know found it nice too know where they are going. They also liked the fact that they could walk more than five steps without catching blight or another of the many diseases they have in Morrowind.
The game also (unlike morrowind) gives you an incentive too be an Argonian. They added more sunken caves and quests that involve swimming. Argonians can wear helmets (Which they couldn't do in Morrowind) and are 100% disease resistant (which they also were not in Morrowind).
Does anyone remember the sneak skill in Morrowind? Do you remember how it was impossible to upgrade? No matter how high it was you couldn't remain undetected like you can in Oblivion. Also most enchanted items that fortified skills were CAST WHEN USED!!!!!! It is far more helpful to be able too equip the item when you wear it and not have too cast it every two seconds. For those who think Oblivion is glitched. I challenge you to go too the Imperial city and jump around. Now go too Vivec and jump around. If you jumped around in Vivec you probably fell through the floor and ruined your Morrowind file forever. In the Imperial city you will just jump around.
Last rant. There are two simple words I want too share with you that you will not hear in Oblivion but you will see, hear, and experiance first hand in Morrowind. Let me spell it out for you...C-L-I-F-F R-A-C-E-R!!!!!
You are never attacked by these annoying birds in Oblivion, but every minute one happens two appear and then takes five minutes too fly down and attack you.
Maybe I couldn't find the Dwemer cube and thats why i'm disgruntled. But I believe Oblivion trumps Morrowind in the tenth degree. I will leave you with the most comforting thing I have ever heard regarding Oblivion. THERE IS NO FARGOTHS HIDING PLACE.
Customer Review: I can only recommend getting the Game of the Year edition instead Summary: 5 StarsOblivion is a must have for any RPG fan. A unique leveling system, combined with a beautiful and expansive world make it a great game. Whats not so often advertised is how easy the game is MOD (modify) by gamers. User created content make for endless fun even though the game itself already has, literally, hundreds of hours of gameplay. Like I said, I recommend going straight for the game of the year edition that includes expansion packs because you will want them, though might not use them for a long time. Word of warning though, if you have never been exposed to an Elder Scroll game, this is quite different from any other RPG so there is a bit of a learning curve.
Customer Review: Oblivion PC - Greatest RPG So Far Summary: 5 StarsOblivion is ten times better than Morrowind. Just make sure you buy it new and not used. Walkthroughs and cheats can be found at [...]
